"Vancouver designer Trudy Wynans (TOODLEBUNNY) called this seasonal one-of-a-kind piece Under the Mistletoe, adding a brass holly leaf, faceted navy sodalite and weaving satin grosgrain ribbon through the vintage gold tone collar.  They'll be lining up for kisses well into the New Year. ROUNDUP - Chain gang

Though it's likely been a while since you've been to summer camp, this year you can channel your inner child with a modern friendship bracelet.  Far from the frayed wonders of your youth, the new versions offer hits of tasteful colour with just the right amount of bling (and none of the pesky arts and crafts previously required). - Maggie Wrobel

Be Dazzled

"Lively jewellery line TOODLEBUNNY channels nature-think bone, wood and stones-yet maintains a chic rock 'n' roll edge-think 14k gold and fringe.  The unique necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings from North Vancouver gal Trudy Wynans can be found at Briers (page 32) and Shop cocoon (page 27), or view the entire collection online at"

TOODLEBUNNY turns trinkets into treasures

"...this weekend's One of a Kind Show and a first for Wynans, whose handcrafted collection is available in 20 boutiques in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. Locally, fans can find her designs at Favourite in Lonsdale Quay."

"Wynans will be showcasing new designs as well as favourites. "I'm trying to rock out a little more," says the designer, who recently learned through Twitter that actress Kim Basinger, in town to film The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, picked up three of her necklaces at Yaletown boutique Fine Finds."

"At work in her studio, Wynans wears one of Basinger's picks, a design she calls Feather 'Y' Fool. The 30-inch 14-karat gold fill chain has dangling trinkets that include a brass feather, nugget of pyrite (fool's gold) and slivers of reclaimed leather. It sells for $149. Wynans wears it with Saints 'n' Angels earrings, $82, and Our Lady Full of Grace reclaimed leather and rolo chain bracelet, $95." - Layne Christensen

Ndidi Onukwulu

"As a staunch advocate for the creation of Canadian arts, Juno-nominated Onukwulu is nothing short of a national treasure.  Her specialty is making songs that blend world, pop and roots music together in an innovative package that defies category.  Aside froom her powerhouse vocals, which can be heard on her debut disc, No I Never, and the sophomore CD, The Contradictor, the 31-year-old B.C.-born talent often lends her voice to many causes tha help preserve our country's culture. ..."

Put Some Bling On It

"Meanwhile, TOODLEBUNNY, who are also from Vancouver, offer an alternative approach to jewelry design.  The collection features delicate, asymmetrical pieces with clean lines made out of 14k gold fill, hand-selected semiprecious stones and Swarovski crystals."

"Assymetry, yet balance, is one of the key elements of my design," explains designer Trudy Wynans.  "I love the challenge of designing asymmetrical necklaces as well as complimentary 'mismatched' earrings using the same disparate elements...When combined with each other tell another story."
