Krampus Market
Reposted from @krampusmarkt - We have another OG maker in the Vancouver handmade community -- the style maven and jewelry maker, @toodlebunny. Here's her story:
I'm a Vancouver based jewelry designer who is mostly self taught but have taken some classes in the field for silversmithing, lost wax casting and enameling. A simple girls night of making long duster style seed bead earrings is what really started it all thirteen years ago and I haven't looked back.
With my jewelry I try to convey an image of old-world craftsmanship meeting modern day sustainable design. Pieces are created primarily with a fusion of vintage dead-stock elements, re-purposed materials and rare finds creating an environmentally conscious, yet fashionable jewelry line. I try to focus on statement pieces that are one of a kind, or depending on material availability, limited to one of a few. I do my best in the studio and home life to promote more sustainable living practices and eliminate unnecessary waste.
I have shown my work at the Toronto One of a Kind Christmas Show, Shiny Fuzzy Muddy and the Filberg Festival to name a few. My studio is located in the historic 1000 Parker building and participate in the East Side Culture Crawl as well as have my work carried in a few independent boutiques in Canada.
