Vancouver's annual 'strange Christmas market' is a great place to check out a well-curated array of artsy-crafty gift ideas, from ceramics and jewellery to handmade chocolates and cool screen-printed T-shirts ––there are also wine, beer and cider tastings to savour. But when you attend an event named after the mythological (or is he?) goat-horned demon of Yule, you can expect a few surprises along the way. Save time for the best seasonal gift you can send to your parents this year: a photo with Krampus himself (try not to cry). Keep in mind that Friday night is a Krampus-themed bacchanalian party (admission includes a drink, nibbles and a little pressie), while Saturday and Sunday are regular market days.
