March Meet the Maker

Day 10 - YOU

This #marchmeetthemaker post is probably one of the hardest ones for me to do. I love talking about my work, the process, inspiration, etc but am a bit shy when it comes to telling a bit more about me. Well here goes.

Here's a pic of me in my small studio in the historic 1000 parker building in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I was a bit of a late bloomer as to what I really wanted to do when I 'grew up' . I don't feel like I've every really grown up but happy to have found making jewelry as my true calling. I'm celebrating thirteen years in biz this month, so crazy how time flies!

Fun facts about me: thrifting is my game. I've never bought a new piece of furniture for my home other than the mattress. I've managed to collect so many amazing mid century modern pieces over the last 20 years. My home looks like a time capsule circa 1960s. (In a good way mostly, except all the 'projects' I never get to but have great intentions!) .

I'm a night owl. Can't seem to get to sleep before 3am (which is early for me) and spend many late nights at the studio.

I'm handy with tools. I like building things, upholstery or doing carpentry work. There's almost no DIY home project I would be scared to tackle.

I'm a sweet tooth. Candy, donuts, chocolate, yes please.

I'm shy. But once you get to know me you'll see my kooky side 😉

I'm always late. So if you need me to be there at a specific time just tell me to be there a half hour before I'm supposed to. I have one friend who does this and it works like magic every time, lol.
